Occasional Care: Information for parents

Agnes Goode Kindergarten has an Occasional Care Program that is integrated with Kindergarten sessions catering for the development and educational needs of young children, in a caring environment. We have 5 sessions offered across the week in total, for children over 2 years of age and two sessions for children under 2 years of age.

The programme is extremely popular and in high demand. Over 100 separate families use the Occasional Care service at Agnes Goode Kindergarten. The average utilization rate is over 90%. We offer up to one (maximum) session per week for each child and when full to capacity we refer to the DECD Occasional Care Program Procedures “Priority of Access”.

Occasional Care is a service offering ‘now and then’ respite care to families. It is not an ongoing child care service.

If you require child care services staff can also provide further information on local community based and private child care options.
